Waking up at 2:30 a.m. on August 1st to drive my boyfriend to the Memphis airport, I was hoping to come up with some funny thoughts to share with the Odyssey community. However; I only had two thoughts replaying in my head: "The 'Go Go Power Rangers' theme song is oddly an amazing alarm clock choice," and "I am so glad I stole Bryce's flannel." Not much else was going through my head as I dressed and hopped into the car. I dreamed up different Instagram captions -- this is how my thinking process mainly works -- about how to explain my gratitude for my boyfriend's clothing. He was headed out again for the week, and I was left in an oversized flannel. I love it. I'm not funny. My thoughts at 3 a.m. aren't funny. And so, my hopes for a humorous post turned into a listicle on reasons why I love Bryce's clothing. Girlfriends, share with me.
1. You feel like you always have a piece of him with you.
My boyfriend and I have been long distance for all of the summer, and he's been extremely busy. On the days when I missed him the most and he couldn't talk to me, I could put on one of his t-shirts and feel as if he was near. His clothing is the best back-up to real time together.
2. Staying in the college trend becomes easy.
I've never been one to buy t-shirts that are larger than a medium for myself. I've also never been one to give into the shirt-longer-than-shorts ideal. Yet, now I have. Do I have pants on at Cookout? No one knows. Does this make me a normal college student? Definitely. I love it.
3. His smell lingers.
No matter how weird this sounds, everyone loves the way their significant other smells. There is no denying it. And so, if there is any way to get his smell to stay a little longer, I well leap on that opportunity. I know you will, too. Give me another shirt, give me more of your scent.
4. You double the size of your closet.
Now I never have a reason to say "I don't have anything to wear!" because I just added ten bf shirts to the stack. There's a sweatshirt somewhere, too.
My parents accused me of only owning Bryce's shirts, and I'm starting to believe them. Thanks for all of the clothing, babe.
