Why We Love Huntingdon

When I say that Huntingdon College is the best, I may be slightly biased. Not only do I love Huntingdon, but my friends also love it. I thank God for placing me in a school that is my home away from home, and I will forever be grateful. Not only has my education grown while attending Huntingdon College, but I have grown as an individual. College has been so much more than I could have ever asked for, and I am enjoying every step along the way. Being able to share my love, and other's for Huntingdon is something I will always hold dear to my heart.

"I love Huntingdon so much because they give me many opportunities. Opportunities that will help me during my college years and after I graduate. Opportunities such as leadership roles that include being on SGA and showing income Freshman and transfers the love I have for Huntingdon, blessed me with the best band ever, and last but not least, a faculty and staff that care so much about me that they will do everything that is in their control to help me succeed. Huntingdon has taught me how to be a leader and it has taught me how to be a go-getter! Also, Huntingdon has taught me how to live, laugh, but most of all how to love while in college. I have made friendships that will never end, and met girls who will be bridesmaids in my wedding one day. All I can say when it comes to my love for Huntingdon, I am very blessed and I will be forever grateful that God placed me at the best school. Go Hawks!" - Morgan Clausal, Junior

"I love Huntingdon because it is the answer to all of my prayers: It is home. It is family. It is a chance to dream and achieve. It fills a special place in my heart." - Jennifer Knox, Sophomore

"I love Huntingdon because I love the atmosphere. Huntingdon is the place I can wake up at 7:50 and make it to my 8 a.m. before it even starts, text my professors if I ever need anything, and know just about everyone. People don't become a part of Huntingdon, Huntingdon becomes a part of them." - Miles Barnhardt, Junior

"Huntingdon is to be lived in, laughed in, and loved. To be met with joy and zest. A place with a challenge for each of us to give it our very best." This is a quote passed down from generation to generation of Huntingdon students, found in an old Huntingdon yearbook. Every word of it depicts the very essence of Huntingdon. It is a place unlike any other. One where you can not only be challenged intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually, but also thrive in an environment where you grow and develop into someone ready to take on the world in service to others." - Ryan Runager, Senior

"I love Huntingdon because you can always find a friend. Huntingdon is one big family and I love that everyone cares for each other, and that we are all connected!" - Meagan Clausal, Junior

Being able to share a love for our school is one of the many things we have in common. We love and appreciate everything Huntingdon College has taught us, and will teach us while we are here.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
