Essential oils, oh how I love them so much. You might have heard about them, or maybe you even own some like I do! Most people question if they really do work or help. I think they do. There are so many different ways to use oils. You can use them for a variety of things, such as in cooking, aromatherapy, cleaning, you name it! I am no professional or know-it-all kind of person about oils, but I can sure tell you about my personal favorites, their uses, and where to find them!

1. Lavender

I absolutely LOVE lavender. There are so many great ways to use this one! It is known to help people relax and sleep. If you are someone who can never sleep, I highly recommend getting this oil. You can put a drop or two in your hands to rub on your pillow, or you can put some on the bottom of your feet. This helps your body absorb the oil faster. Make sure to ALWAYS wash your hands after using oils. You don't want to end up touching your eyes with the oils still on you because trust me, that is no fun at all! Also, you can even put it in a diffuser to just breathe in. I will talk about those later. Lavender also helps with bug bites, minor burns, cuts, nausea, and much more!

2. Peppermint

This one is another great one. I personally use peppermint when I have headaches, sore muscles, or even if I need an energy boost. You can rub some on your temples to help with headaches, which is what I do. Also I found that taking a bath with a few drops of peppermint really helps soothe sore muscles, and even opens up your sinuses. When you put some on your skin though, you don't want to put too much or else it will burn. The only way I can describe this oil is that it feels like you have an icy hot patch on you whenever you apply it to your sore muscles. So, if you don't like that feeling, I wouldn't recommend using it on your skin.

3. Thieves

Okay if you like the smell of a chai tea latte almost as much as me then you will definitely love thieves. Thieves is known for boosting your immune system. This one is perfect to use during cold or flu season. I believe you can find thieves cough drops at Sprouts Farmers Market or online. These come in handy when your throat is feeling a little sore. Thieves is also great for cleaning. I use it in the kitchen to wipe down the counters. To do so you will want to get the thieves household cleaner and mix it with distilled water. This is a great way to get rid of bacteria, and make your house smell like fall!

I honestly could go on with a list of other oils I like to use. Those are my top three. Okay, so diffuser time! I love these. You can find them online, at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Sprouts, and even more stores! Diffusers are basically humidifiers, but are used for essential oils. With these, all you do is just add a few drops of oils, and it will fill up the room with the aroma of the oils you used. The prices of diffusers range from around $20 to $60. I highly recommend investing in buying one if you are interested in aromatherapy, or if you just like your house to smell good in a natural way!

If you are interested in essential oils or want to learn more, you can always visit Young Living Essential Oils. They have many oils, diffusers, and books you can buy. They are a great company that I personally love when it comes to buying essential oils or learning more about them! Two other essential oil companies I enjoy are NOW Essential Oils and doTERRA. They both have wonderful oils that smell amazing! Feel free to check them out!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
