Why I love Ellen DeGeneres

What can I say? I love Ellen DeGeneres. She is truly amazing. She speaks what is on her mind, is brave beyond words, and embraces who she is. Throughout her entire life, Ellen has put smiles on the faces of anyone she has encountered, especially since the airing of her talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in 2003. Each hour long episode provides viewers with happiness, laughter and joy, all while teaching important lessons. Without a doubt, Ellen is incredible, and here are just a few of the multitude of reasons why.

She's open about her sexuality

Not only is it amazing that Ellen is open about being gay, but it is also amazing that she came out publicly in 1997, a time not as accepting as today.

She excites the next generation

Meet Brielle. The four year old who knows the entire periodic table

She's always dancing

No matter the episode, you can always find Ellen dancing

She makes you laugh

Who else would be dancing with her audience while wearing a mermaid costume

And she laughs too

She embraces diversity

Each and every day she teaches valuable lessons

She helps those in need

For example, here's Talia. A cancer patient, make up lover and now an honorary Covergirl, thanks to Ellen

She talks about uncomfortable topics

And makes people more able to talk about them through humor

She's inspirational

Just one of the many examples of Ellen teaching us to be better people

She's herself

It's simply Ellen, no fake personality, just Ellen

Her love for Portia

Relationship goals

She doesn't let others hold her back from speaking her mind

No one's stopping her

She loves what she does

There's no doubt about it

Ellen, keep inspiring the world while filling it with laughter and love

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
