Why I Love Central PA

So many people will do that thing where it's x number of reasons that you know you're from a certain place. But I wanted to do something a little different. I want to list and explain reasons why I love where I'm from. I'm from the Central Pennsylvania area and most know it as Pennslytucky or nowheresville PA or any other thing related to that. But I love Central PA with all my heart and I don't think my life would be quite right without it in my life.

One reason that I love the center of the state is because of how in the middle of nowhere I can feel but still be five minutes away from the local grocery store. When I tell my college friends about where I'm from, they think I live on a farm. In reality, I don't. I live in a civilized area with a decent amount people and places that are opened past 6 PM on a Sunday night but at night, I can feel really secluded from the rest of the world.

Another reason that I love my area is the fact that we get the first day of hunting season off. Now, I don't hunt, heck, I haven't even picked up a gun ever, but I like the tradition of it. Whether some get up at dark o thirty to go hunting for deer or they don't get up until afternoon, it's a tradition. I guess you could even go so far to call it a cultural thing. I love watching the faces of those who don't even know what hunting season is. They don't really understand. So regardless if you are for or against hunting, it is something that is cultural, at least in my part of Central PA

Another kind of cool thing is that being in Central PA means that we're relatively close to a lot of things. Centralia is about 2 or so hours depending on where you are. Gettysburg can be anywhere from 40 minutes to and hour and a half. Lancaster county and Amish Country isn't too far away. Hershey and all of its fun attracts aren't that far away either. So, despite that fact that we all complain about how there is nothing to do, but really there are a lot of fun day trips to do.

Most people know that there's Pittsburgh, Philly and then there's Alabama in between. What people don't know or maybe don't realize how beautiful, peaceful, amazing and different Central PA is. When first coming, most don't see it. They might see or smell the cows and not really understand why someone would choose to live here. But here's the thing. While it might push others out of their comfort zone, it's comforting to others around them. Most might not understand, but there is some sort of charm that Central PA has.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
