Why Little Brother's Are Our Lifetime Best Friends

When I was four years old, I was blessed with a little brother. It was September 6th, 2003. I remember being so excited with my grandparents at the hospital that day (also because that was the first time I ever had a chocolate iced, cream filled doughnut from Krispy Kreme). That was the day I met one of the truest friends I'll have in my lifetime. Here's why our little brother's are our lifelong best friends!

1. Little Brother's Keep Things Exciting

When you have a younger brother (especially when they're really little), you will never run out of pretending, getting into trouble, creek digging, turned-around-backwards sledding, Wii playing, and late night gas station trips. Keeping up with your little brother can be trying at times but you will always make memories that will make you smile when you start to feel the harshness of life.

2. You Can Always Count On Each Other

You will find that your brother is one of the only people in your life that has no reason to want to see you fail. You're on the same team. I've always been able to count on my brother to listen to me when I'm upset about something, to make me laugh, to hang out, and to help me out when I need it. And, because of the bond that is shared between a little brother and sister, he knows he can always count on you, too.

3. Little Brother's Inspire You To Be a Better You

Your friends in this life are supposed to naturally want to do better and be better. When you have someone in your life younger than you, they start their lives watching everything that you do. They want to go everywhere that you want to go, they want to do everything that you do. Having a younger brother has inspired me to be someone positive in his life and try to set a responsible example and be there for him.

4. They Help You With Boy Problems

Having a little brother usually means you're in for a lot of brutal honesty. And, he knows how boys work. When I'm talking about my guy problems, I know I can always count on my bro to tell me what I need to hear.

5. You Literally Grew Up Together

When you have a little brother, you're just naturally there for all of the big events in each other's lives. You know each other so well because you've spent so much of it together and are so comfortable with each other. Growing up with someone creates such a special bond that only you two will have.

This article goes out to my (not so) little brother who turns 16 today! I can't believe how the time has flown. You are someone I could not be prouder of! I love you, buddy!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
