Why Life Is Beautiful Isn't Just a Festival
Life is beautiful Facebook

Life is Beautiful is annual event that happens in downtown Las Vegas. Downtown Las Vegas is located in one of the most cultured parts of town – with walls and streets covered in artwork created by some of the most diverse individuals. Every year, Life is Beautiful aims to give attendees a weekend of beauty, love, and unity. And every year, Life is Beautiful manages to accomplish that and so much more. Many of you who have never been may be wondering why people spend so much on a three-day festival that is packed with people. But, what you do not know is what you really experience during this festival. Here are just a few things you would only experience at Life is Beautiful.

1. A love for art

With art covering almost every section of Downtown Las Vegas, it is merely impossible to dismiss the beauty behind every piece of art you walk by. Every piece made by someone with a vision to inspire someone.

2. A love for people

There is just something about experiencing live music with the people you love. A shared love of music transfers to a shared love for someone’s soul. Because essentially what we love has a lot to say about us as people.

3. A happy soul

You know that euphoric feeling you get when you are on cloud nine? That is the feeling you experience when you are screaming your lungs out and vibing to real music that connects with you on another level. Imagine that feeling with your friends around you.

4. A newfound appreciation for other artists

Some bands/musicians aren’t headliners but people choose to go check them out anyways. In the process, people fall in love with an artist they would’ve never found before--artists who play good music and stand for what they believe in.

5. An appreciation for beauty

When I see beauty I mean it in every aspect. Beauty in people, beauty in music, beauty in yourself, beauty in art. Being around this kind of environment makes you realize just how much beauty we miss on a daily basis.

So if you were wondering if Life is Beautiful is worth it…the answer is yes. If you were wondering whether or not it’s a big group of “hipsters” or “ravers” then the answer is no. It’s a group of many individuals, all from different backgrounds, coming together to appreciate one thing – the beauty in life. So, if that is something you’re into, take the chance and step foot into the world of Life is Beautiful.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
