I’m sure when you think of Kim Kardashian, you can come up with a million things to say. The last thought to ever come to mind probably is that she’s a role model. I’m here to convince you otherwise.
Then, Kim becomes famous herself. Soon enough, she was Kim Kardashian- Robert Kardashian’s daughter with a sex tape with rapper Ray J. That video blew up instantly and is still being watched today. (Which by the way is SUPER weird. Wouldn’t suggest watching, to be honest.) This might be one of the worst things to happen to someone. She developed a horrible reputation, received horrible publicity, and horrible things were said about her. Instead of surrendering to the negative feedback, Kim made a name for herself.
Yeah, she made a mistake. Was it even her fault it went viral? I wonder if she’s grateful it did. Kim became a sex icon and a public figure. Her entire family became immensely more famous than they were before. Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired on TV, Kim posed for several magazine covers, and her sisters began to do the same.
See, I think Kim is a role model for turning a bad situation into a beneficial one. Not many people can stand tall after being knocked down. Imagine being taunted by the entire country for an embarrassing mistake. What if the dumb thing you did last Friday night while blacked out was the national headline for a month? I’m not saying Kim’s sex tape is acceptable. I’m saying the way she completely turned it around is inspiring.
Almost a decade after the leak, Kim Kardashian or anyone in her clan could run for president and most likely beat both of the current candidates. Kim’s ability to turn a humiliating incident into a reign of popularity for her and her family is AMAZING. Her confidence radiated throughout it all. And that’s why she’s a role model. *mic drop*
