There is always that one person who says, "I never grew up watching kiddy movies." Then there is me who knows I'll continuously be watching kiddy movies for the rest of my life. Yes, I am one of those crazies who is currently protesting the removal of The Nightmare Before Christmas on Netflix this beautiful month of October! I mean really? How could they remove this is the month of halloween people! Okay, anyway, the importance of kid movies, here you go!

1. Everyone can watch them and everyone can enjoy them.

Kid movies are (usually) purposefully made to not only entertain kids, but parents too. When you're a kid, you love these silly movies, but as you get older you can appreciate the witty humor in it all. It's pretty clever one can sneak in random sex jokes without kids noticing. That in itself should be appreciated.

2. It's good to get out of this reality by watching some good old happy endings.

I mean most kids movies have that scene that make you cry, but in the end everything turns out okay! Which then you can carry into your life, you got fired and dumped? Guess what? At the end of your story everything turns out okay! It's pretty motivational.

3. It makes you smile.

I guarantee you there is at least one kids movie that you can watch and it will make you smile whether its from the cuteness or from the witty yet adorable humor.

4. They make that cold soul of yours cry.

I don't care who you are or the experiences you have acquired over the years, but if you didn't cry when Mufasa died in the Lion King and Simba was trying to nudge him "awake"...maybe this article doesn't apply to you because you clearly don't have any sort of a heart or soul.

5. There is so many life lessons in these kids movies too.

Like the amount of love your siblings stuff in there, and the amount of find the right "love" of your life. That is some deep stuff that may fly sky high over kids heads, but man...that stuff gets me teary eyed every time.

Kids movies are important, and if this article doesn't convince you of it, just go watch some. Please. Go now! Open yourself to the possibilities of kiddy movies and to the humor, life lessons, and tears they bring! Be free now! Remember what it's like to be a little kid!

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
