Growing up in today's world, it is hard to be a devout Christian. Not only is there such easy accesses to sinful things, but the world promotes those actions. Advertisements make everything look like it is so much fun and that it is ok since everyone else does those things, but that is not what the Bible says. When all of your friends invite you to do something that you know is wrong, it is hard to say no because you don't want to be seen as boring. However, I would rather be boring to others on this Earth and spend my eternity with Jesus. Being a "Jesus Freak" is something we should be grateful to be known as.

1. Being called a Jesus Freak means that people can tell you are a Christian.

As a Christian, we should never be ashamed of our faith. The Bible says in Matthew chapter 10 verses 32-33, "Whosoever, therefore, shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." I surely do not want to get to heaven and have Jesus deny me. People should be able to tell that you are a Christian by the way you carry yourself, the way you communicate with others, and the way you treat others.

2. Being called a Jesus Freak means that you are crazy about Jesus!

We have an endless list of reasons as to why we as Christians should be crazy about Jesus. First of all, he is definitely crazy about us if he would die for such sinful, ungrateful people. We fall short of what we are supposed to strive for as Christians daily and possibly even hourly. A simple thought like, "What is that woman wearing?" is something that Jesus would not want us to do, yet we judge people without even thinking before we speak.

3. Being called a Jesus Freak means that people will not like you.

Today in time, I feel we can all agree, that no matter how 'politically correct' you are, you are still going to offend someone. Sadly, being a Christian has begun to offend many people. When you tell someone you are a Christian or you bring Jesus up in a conversation, you can sometimes see people facial expression completely change and you know their entire opinion of you has been altered, and that's ok. No one ever said being a Christian would be easy.

4. Being called a Jesus Freak means that you might lose friends or family members.

When you become a Christian, the way you want to live your life entirely changes. As a new born believer, you want to do everything you can for the Man who died for you and nonbelievers do not understand why you are so different. When you get saved, your friends will wonder what happened to the old you and why you no longer share the same interests. While they are going to the biggest party of the year, you want to go on a youth trip with your church. They see you as being boring and uncool, but you need to reassure yourself that you are making the right decision. While your family is planning a get together on a Wednesday night and you inform them that you will not be there because you have Church, they won't understand why you would want to miss eating dinner with some family just to go sit in a room or congregation and talk about the Bible. Try to get your friends and family into Church and you might get a few to climb on board, but there will always be some who you leave standing at the gate.

5. Being called a Jesus Freak means that you are doing something right.

Living a Christian life with everything happening in society is tricky. You lose friends and family and you are disliked, but in the end, it will pay off. What you do on Earth is your testimony. When I get to heaven I would love to hear Jesus say to me, "Well done my good and faithful servant." Life on this Earth is temporary, but being a Jesus Freak and having Jesus in your heart means that you have an eternity that you can look forward to.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
