Like millions of other Americans during Olympic seasons, I’ve been trying to watch as many events as I possibly can. Of course the common, very popular sports are ice skating, snowboarding, hockey, and so on, but I kind of stumbled upon a sport I forgot existed.

Cross-country skiing is very popular, but I never imagined myself sitting down and actually watching it intently. During this Winter Olympics, though, I did. I am so thankful that I did because I just found a new role model.

It just happened to be background television as I was doing homework, but as I watched, I became extremely and probably over involved. In between the short races, the commentator showed the clip of one of the American Olympians female skiers that was racing in the next race.

In that clip, a bubbly and energetic blonde haired woman was on the screen talking about her career and about how she had choreographed a funny dance for her and her team to do to bond as a team. Her name is Jessie Diggins and she is the role model I didn’t know I needed in my life.

Apart from being energetic and bubbly, Jessie Diggins has the drive and inspiration that should become a norm for everyone. In her interview she talked about something that has become her recognizable feature to all in the sport of cross-country skiing. Glitter.

Diggins’ trademark glitter on her cheeks stands out in comparison to her opponents when she skis, but the meaning is something everyone should hold on to. She stated in the clip I saw that she puts on the glitter to remind her of the dreams she had when she was a little girl. To her now, the glitter she wears doubles as a reminder and a goal to ski towards.

We all need our own glitter. We all need our own reminder of the great things we have always wanted to do or dreamed of doing. We need that little simple thing to push us and make us realize that all the hard work we go through is towards a greater goal, our dream.

So thank you, Jessie Diggins, for sharing that beautiful reminder of how much we could do and our unlimitless potential. Thank you for sharing your unbelievably kind love. Thank you for encouraging everyone, especially girls and women, to give their dream everything they got. Thank you for spreading joy and happiness whenever you can. Thank you for being the role model I never knew that I needed until now.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
