Clear Your Mind

Working out is something that is good for everyone, but especially if you're a student. Being a college student it is sometimes hard and not always affordable to get to a gym. College students have very busy schedules, between class, homework, sororities and fraternities, jobs and other extracurriculars. This often makes working out seem nearly impossible. What people don't realize though is that working out makes all the other things you have in your life run much more smooth. Working out centers you and relieves stress making it easier to have a clear head when working on homework or studying.

Working out is also a great anxiety reliever. Sometimes the stress of being a full-time college student and just life can be too much. Working out is an amazing way to clear your head of all of the clutter. Even if you just go to the gym for a half an hour, you can sweat out all your worries and just clear your head to get a fresh start. It is important to do this because you will not progress in your studies if you aren't in a good mental place. Working out is the perfect way to maintain this.

Exercise also gives you endorphins. College students can always use an extra dose of endorphins. As I previously stated, the life of a college student can be quite overwhelming so increasing your endorphins by working out is a great way to put yourself in a better mood. Anything to make you happier helps even if it comes from getting a little sweaty.

Another great thing about working out in college is that you never have to go alone. In my sorority there is a group of us that have a membership to the same gym. We have a group chat in which we schedule when we are going to go to the gym during the week and carpool with each other. When you go to the gym with friends it makes your gym experience overall more fun. It doesn't seem so much like a chore when you're working out with the people you love the most. It is also really motivational. Your friends will push you past where you think you can go because they know it is in your best interest to push yourself. They will tell you how it is and keep you going.

In order to maintain a healthy body and a healthy mind getting exercise is so important. Even if you can't go to the gym, grab some friends and go for a job, or do some in house (or dorm) workouts. Anything to get your body moving and those endorphins flowing. Once you start you won't want to stop and you'll find yourself feeling better and happier.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
