Nowadays, everyone is obsessed with social media in some way and it is extremely important that we remember who we are. I am sure we have all heard one of our friends say that they just wish they were "so and so". And every time one of my friends say this, all I can think to myself is well you're pretty cool too? By no means am I Instagram famous, but here is some behind the scenes of someone who averages 50-70 likes on a picture.
Here is the picture I Instagrammed
Pretty "insta-worthy", huh?
Here is the picture without a filter
You never really notice the difference until both pictures are side by side.
Here is the actual amount of food I ate
I didn't finish it because I actually burned my kale and forced myself to eat some of it. I had broccoli with my lunch and so I actually didn't want it again. After I didn't finish my dinner, I went to go take a 30 minute nap at 7:30pm on a Friday night. I left this plate on my couch and left my kitchen a mess.
The Mess
See all that crap on that pan? Yep. Burnt Kale.
The Mess (continued)
What I made didn't really require that much work? How did I make such a mess?
Fruity Pebbles
Fruity Pebbles? Yes... Fruity Pebbles. After I didn't finish my dinner and after I woke up from my nap, I got up and ate a bowl of Fruity Pebbles...
Bottom Line
Not to bash "Instagram Famous" people but as a society we really have become so intertwined in the social media world and we tend to lose who we really are. Now I am not saying stop making your Instagram pictures pretty, but what i am saying is stop thinking everyone is perfect as you scroll through your "gram". Stop believing that you have to be as "perfect" as them. Start believing that you are good and perfect enough for yourself. You have no one to answer to except yourself. Make yourself proud. If anything start thinking of how you can grow to become a better version of who you already are.
