Why It's Important to Live In The Moment

The past is history, the future is a mystery, so all you have right now is the present. I cannot express to you enough the importance of living in the moment- which is actually a harder task than it may seem. It might sound silly to be preaching about something so obvious because technically everyone physically "lives in the moment," but not psychologically.

As humans, it's natural to let your mind wander back to situations from the past and re-trigger emotions of anger or sadness. However, you can't let this affect your present day life and happiness. If someone hurt you, forgive and forget. I promise you it's way harder to hold a grudge than to just move on and be happy in the moment.

This also applies to worrying too much about the future(guilty). You never get now back, so I suggest living every moment to the fullest. For example, let's say that you're in a relationship that's going super well and you are nothing but happy around each other. Then, one day, you start freaking out about where you will be a year from now, and suddenly all you can think about is that the future of your relationship is doomed when there wasn't even a significant fight or misunderstanding. It's not a good idea- trust me.

Why waste time dwelling on the past or fixating on what's going to happen in weeks, months, or years from now?

Live in the moment. The present is the only thing you are in control of right now, so I suggest that you take advantage of it. Don't waste your time with "what if's" or "what could be's." Be content and confident with what you have right now, and make the most of the cards you are given, and I promise you will be happier.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
