Why It Is So Important To Let It Go

One of my favorite sayings is "Let go and let God." I think this is something we should all live by. If you have any sort of hate in your heart, or anxieties weighing you down He is the only person that will help you ease that struggle.

Having guilt, pain, hatred, anxiety, jealousy, and all sorts of other feelings living in your heart can really interrupt the love that we should all be putting out into the world. I struggle with this every single day. It's hard to tell yourself that you're in the wrong, and it's even harder attempting to correct yourself. The smallest things can set me off sometimes whether that be anger, envy, sadness. It doesn't matter what it is sometimes I find myself in a situation where I just really wish I wouldn't have let my feelings get in the way of my actions. I think this is why it is so important to let the small things go. Once you have said something it is impossible to get it back. I typically really try to think about how my actions will affect others because the last thing I wasn't to do is hurt someone. If I can influence someone in any way I want it to be positive. People notice your actions wherever you are, don't ever forget that. Someone out in the world could be watching you and your actions can influence that person's next choice they make. How can you have a happy life if your heart isn't happy? I know that sounds really cheesy, but it is so true. If your heart has frustrations and uncertainties trapped inside how are you going to let your heart guide you in the best direction you can go. The only thing that should be guiding you is Jesus, and He lives in our hearts. He has a plan for you, and if you turn over all of the hurt in your heart to Him, He will handle it. He is advocating for you, every obstacle he puts in front of you, He knows you can handle. He will never give you more than you can handle.

Try and take every day is it comes. Think of all the time you have spent being envious of other people, or being sensitive towards other people's judgements. I know it is easier said than done, but if we can just tell ourselves every day that the only person we need recognition from is Jesus we will be able to live much easier lives. Take the time you have spent and dedicated that towards a more positive outlook on life, and maybe the people you encounter will be more positive too. I think you will find that if you have a positive attitude your day becomes more positive, and when you encounter things that could possibly bring you down it is easier to resolve those feelings because you don't already have build up in your heart. It doesn't matter what other people think about you, or what you think of other people. We are all supposed to encourage each other to reach our goals, and to be happy for each other when becoming successful. It is so important to build each other up and not tear each other down based on personal preference. The bottom line is let things go that are distracting you from radiating love and stop putting hate into your world.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
