Why It Is So Hard To Live In A Place At War

Why do I have to chose a side?

Why It Is So Hard To Live In A Place At War
Humanizing The Vacuum

Recently in Chicago and most place you see on the news or social media there is one thing in common this whole dispute between people who would say Black Lives Matter and those who would say Blue Lives Matter. This is a dispute that many people have taken a side on and many have expressed their feelings towards the other side. Of course both sides argue that their sides are important and the killing of the other should be considered a crime with the highest penalty. And like any other human being I would agree.

But there seems to be a problem that being that I do not agree with more side than the other. The problem is that while many people are so closely tied to their side I don't believe one life is more important than the other. I don't agree in the killing of unarmed African American young men that are simply following the request of a bad officer, i do not believe in the killing of young men that were doing nothing more than attempting to live their everyday lives and that they are not committing a crime. But i also do not believe that officers that are simply doing their jobs and nothing more that are trying to protect their communities, should be considered a bad police officer. I don't think that all police officers are honest and doing their job but at the same time I do not believe that all officer are bad officers.

The bigger problem today isn't which lives matter more it is the fact that police officer are killing innocent men that have have done absolutely nothing wrong. The bigger problem is that in a society where we are supposed to trust these police officers to protect there are officer who have proven that they are inadequate for the job. The problem is that not only this but that we are in the belief that all officers are all bad officer when there are officer out there willing to protect anyone no matter their race, religion and gender. The problem is that we have created a war against each other without a cause we have created a war among ourselves.

While many people would try to get me to understand their side better so as I can take a side, telling me that the other side is trying to justify their actions and that their actions are not morally right. They would tell why I have to agree with their side. And to them i would say

That although I understand their perspective I need them to understand that I cannot just chose one side when all I see is a world filled with war and crime. When I see a world plagued by hate, when I don't understand why we can't just all agree that both side are of crucial importance to having peace. I am not expecting everyone to change their perspective I just want them to understand why it is so hard to chose a side when all you want to see is the world at peace.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

Happy Birthday Cake

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
