Bear with me now, it is alright to be a hot mess in your 20s. Say it out loud, it is OK to be a mess in my 20s. This concept took me a very long time to accept; although, I am only 22 my 20s have been a whirlwind of mess. I have been through job changes, friendship losses, heartbreak, health issues and my fair share of stupid drunken nights. But, that is OK.

Your 20s are for you to never do your laundry, to not remember how many shots you took last night, to feel super guilty for hooking up with that one guy. It is alright because eventually your life will fall into place. I like to believe once you reach 30, it all changes, and it might not change for everyone. Until then, I would like to embrace the mess full force.

Here are five reasons why it is OK to be a hot mess.

1. If your future husband or wife can't accept your mess now, why do they deserve your best?

So, you're too much to handle now? Alright, then I guess you can't deal with me screaming through the labor of your child, either, or crying when my mother dies in the future. Don't you want someone who will be stable and there for you and vice versa?

2. Just because you're in a relationship, married or parenting young, doesn't mean you have to be boring.

Even the best parents, wives and girlfriends need some stupid fun, too. Remember this is your time to shine and find yourself. Even if that means grabbing a pint of ice cream and some Doritos and laughing with some friends.

3. Your life will eventually fall into place, then you will have to be a real adult.

So, eventually, when everything does fall into place, you're probably going to have real obligations that don't allow you to have spontaneous fun all the time. Use this time now to appreciate that you can get up and go do whatever you want. Embrace the fact that you might not have it all together, and just go with the flow.

4. So, you don't have everything you want today? What do you have?

A sure fire way to ruin your 20s is thinking you should have it all together by now. So, you might not have the perfect job, but are you making money doing something? So, you don't have a boyfriend or husband, but do you have an amazing family that loves you? So, you aren't living where you want to be, but have you gotten to know your city? There's always a silver lining, and sometimes, we forget it's there.

5. Don't forget to laugh.

So, you did something stupid when you drank that entire bottle of wine? Laugh it off. Now is the time to live, laugh and love through all the pain and heartbreak. Don't forget to enjoy life as it comes to you, and don't expect to wake up tomorrow and have it all.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
