From the age of 2 to 10, nothing in the world is as great as being a princess. The elaborate gowns, handsome men, and singing your way through life is all you ever want. However, reality isn't filled with servants and crowns. Reality is hard. It isn't all giggles and songs, and it certainly isn't all about finding your husband. In life, there is hard work, dedication, set backs, and triumphs.
The Olympics are the sign of struggle and triumph. All athletes put in all of their effort, and sacrifice a lot in their lives to be able to be great athletes. To be able to achieve a dream of theirs. There are so many athletes that achieve greatness, and women athletes are amazing ones. Little girls should be watching the Olympics. They should be watching Aly Raisman and Simone Biles kill it on the beam and floor. They should be watching Simone Manuel and Katie Ledecky breaking records in the water.
Girls should be watching and observing that women can be powerful and strong. They can achieve goals that they set for themselves. Girls should know there is more to life than being a princess. Girls should want to be warriors in their own way, whether it be becoming an Olympian or running their own business. Girls should be inspired by other strong women they can watch on TV just as they watch Cinderella or Snow White.
When you are young you are so impressionable you soak everything up like a sponge in water. It is good for young girls to witness these events that women are competing in. They should see that there is more to life and that they can achieve great things. Finding role models at a young age that are confident and powerful is important. Seeing that there is a world other than a fairy tale is important. They should know they can set big goals for themselves, and accomplish them all.
