Whether you're a Democrat, Republican, Independent, or someone who identifies with another party, you have to admit that Hillary's nomination for president is not only unprecedented, it is a major milestone for women in politics.
As First Lady Michelle Obama said at the Democratic National Convention, "...because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all of our sons and daughters, now take for granted that a woman can be President of the United States."
Earlier is year in May, I attended a Bernie Sanders rally in Southern California. It was the first political event for a presidential candidate that I had attended, and what truly caught my attention was how the crowd reacted. There was not a violent soul in the audience. And when Bernie took to the platform, his words resonated with everyone there from young adults to older generations. He had a plan to bring the middle class up and help those who were themselves impoverished. He only wanted to help our nation and bring his platform to fruition.
And guess who wants the same for our great country? Hillary Clinton.
As much as I wish that she didn't lie about Benghazi or have a run in with the FBI regarding her emails, I am confident that she will be a much better—not to mention more mature—leader than Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton is the Rey of this election; she is our only hope. As Secretary of State during the Obama Administration, she was more than capable at her job, and she will bring that same determination and strong will to her new position as President of the United States.
As for Bernie, his ideas of a peaceful political revolution will live through all of us constituents. That is why, despite how we may feel about him not being the Democratic Party's nominee for this election, we must vote for the person who shares his interests. In this election, that person is Hillary Clinton. Whereas Donald Trump is a demagogue who uses scare tactics and messages of prejudice and hate to get people to vote for him, Hillary Clinton's political platform is that of empowerment and compassion.
Come November, we will choose the next President of the United States, and I hope you all stand with me and vote for Hillary Clinton, the woman who will change this country for the better.
