It’s not about the money.
And it’s not about the fame.
And, for sure, it’s not about changing the minds of people.
I’m simply trying YouTube out because I want to make a difference. The world is so full of the same things. The same people complaining about politics, economics, wars and violence. I think it’s time for people to take a look at the other things in the world that are positive-- things that are making people happy. Changing lives for the better. I want to bring all of these things to Youtube. I want to give a voice to the important matters that don’t have a voice on the 6 p.m. news. I’m giving YouTube a chance because I think it’s time for me to give myself a voice.
I don’t know if I’ll be successful. I could fall like a led balloon. But they said the same thing about Led Zeppelin. Do I think I’ll be successful? Possibly. In all honesty, I’m sure another YouTube star will outshine me. I don’t care if I fail. I’ll simply keep posting videos until something catches on. I have never been a quitter, and I swear I will not start now. Not now. Not ever.
I want to give a voice to people that do not have a voice. I want to be the person that makes someone's day just slightly better than before. I want to bring up topics that people will talk about at the dinner table. There will certainly be people who tell me I can’t. They tell me I shouldn’t. They laugh at my thoughts. They tell me not to quit my day job. And to them, I say have fun in the rat race. Have fun going to college and doing something that has no relationship to your degree. Have fun conforming to what everyone wants you to be. But that is not for me. For me, I blaze my own trail. I do my own thing. I don’t “go with the flow." No, I make the flow go around me. I make my own flow.
YouTube is a great way to try something out. For anyone that is afraid to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. I say do it. Don’t stick your toe in the pool. Dive right in and don’t look back. Trust me, it’s scary. It’s dangerous. But it sure is fun as hell. You’re the boss of what you want to do. No one can tell you what they want to see. You make what you want them to know. The thing that I keep telling myself is that others have done it, and are doing it now. Some of the greatest celebrities have dove into the dark pool of blazing their own trail. Of course, your parents will tell you that it’s only a small percentage that “make it,” but who’s to say that you are not part of the same percentage? I’m trying YouTube because I want something different.
