Why I'm Praying For a Relationship Like My Parents
Headline Politics

Your parents are your first really example of a relationship. For some people this is a good thing and for some its a bad thing. No matter what though, every child takes away from what they see in their parents relationship. You are shaped by it and most of your relationships are also. I was blessed with the ultimate example of love and what it takes to make a relationship work. Marriage isn't easy, I've seen that firsthand (as I'm sure everyone has). But if I'm lucky enough to have anything like what my parents have, I'll consider myself one of the luckiest girls in the world.

My parents taught me that true love exists. That God did make this person match your heart perfectly. Time doesn't matter and if you love this person you show them. They show me each and every day that love can constantly grow stronger. My parents show me what its like to wake up with the same person by your side every single day and appreciate it more every time.

My parents taught me that true love is being with your best friend. No matter how bad the day, that person can find a way to make you smile. They can tell when youre upset by just the tone of your voice. There's no longer a need to be anyone but yourself because exactly who you are, is their favorite person in the world.

Lastly my parents taught me how to love eachother and still be the best parents a girl could ask for. Their love shines through them and pulls the family together. Theie love spreads to their children and made a family I can only thank God for letting me be apart of.

My parents taught me to never settle for anything less because true love is out there. It isn't easy and it isn't always fun. but their is truly nothing else like it. True love is someone who will bother you and annoy you every day for the rest of your life. And you wouldn't have it any other way. That's why I'm praying for a relationship like my parents have.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
