Trump or Hillary for President? More like who even cares! I can proudly say that, in this election, I am not voting for the President of the United States. There are many reasons that come into play when I make that statement and honestly the main reason is I know nothing about politics and how things work... I’ve had many people shame me for making this choice, but I think it's the best option.

I’m 20 years young and it’s been two years since I’ve been able to register myself to vote, and to this day I still haven’t and will continue not to. In my personal opinion, why does my vote even matter? No matter who I vote for, our country is going down hill. No, I don’t spend my free time reading up on how the election is going and honestly why would I? Trump and Hillary have done nothing but make fools out of themselves in front of everyone. Do you really think one of these two are going to make a change?

When I think of someone who would be a great candidate I think of someone who really wants to make a difference. This person would be someone who wants to help all social classes, not just the lower and middle classes, to gain votes. This person would be honest, open minded and charismatic. They would want the input from the people to hear our real honest thoughts. They would work with our enemies and try to make them become our allies. They would notice the violence and want to make a change to help save the lives of our people. They wouldn’t degrade others of a different race, gender, or personal love choices because they don’t like them. They would make ethical choices when they are deciding something. I know this is a lot, but really take a second to think about those qualities.

I’ve thought over and over again why I don’t want to vote… Each time I find myself getting scared, scared of what is going to happen to our country. Neither of these candidates give me an at ease feeling. Hillary deletes government emails, and Trump degrades everyone who isn’t white, American, and heterosexual. They fight over Twitter looking like young teens. It’s embarrassing. I don’t think I’m alone when I say I’m tired of hearing about these two. Do you really want one of these people to run our country? I know I don’t.

Again, many of you may say I’m wrong for making the choice that I have, but I still haven’t been given a good

enough reason who I should vote for or why. Don’t shame us young people or anyone who doesn’t want to vote for that reason. This elections is scary… Our world is going to change and not change for the good at this rate… I know this for a fact, if I don’t vote I can’t complain, I am well aware. Until then I will give my thoughts. I think we should all vote Ellen Degeneres for President because who doesn’t love Ellen?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
