Why I'm Not Ashamed To 'Keep Up With The Kardashians'
Cosmopolitan Magazine

"They have no talent."

"They're selfish."

"I'm sick of seeing them all over the media."

These are all common responses people have to both the Kardashians and the Jenners. I, on the other hand, disagree with all three of these statements and with all other negative responses people have about the Kardashians and Jenners. I think it's safe to say that I am obsessed with both the Kardashians and the Jenners. Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie are, by far, my favorite celebrities. I have post notifications turned on for each of their Instagram accounts, have all of their apps downloaded on my iPhone and can never pass up a marathon on their hit TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

People love to claim that the Kardashians and the Jenners have no talent as a reason why they should not be famous. I think this is the furthest thing from the truth. When was the last time these haters created a multi-million dollar makeup line, launched a video game that was instantly successful, were on the 50th anniversary cover of Cosmopolitan magazine or walked on numerous catwalks at New York Fashion Week? The Kardashians and Jenner women have collectively done ALL of these. Kylie Jenner launched her makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics, in early 2016 and experienced immediate success. Her current focus is lip products, including matte liquid lipstick in a wide range of shades, metal liquid lipstick and lip gloss. But Kylie has made various announcements about plans to expand her brand to more than just lip products. Her product releases create so much hype on social media, that, of course, I have become a part of by ordering two lip kits. I'd be lying if I said I didn't fangirl when my lip kits arrived in the mail. Kylie has also posted on Snapchat pictures of various possible locations for a Kylie Cosmetics store. The success that Kylie has achieved with her cosmetics line shows that she is an extremely talented business woman. Kim Kardashian, the second oldest of the Kardashian kids, is also very business savvy. Her video game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, launched in June 2014 as an app for iOS and Android and made more than one million dollars in the first week following its release. Since the game's release, Kim has made more than 80 million dollars from it. The game is extremely addicting, as I know all too well. If this is not a successful business, then I don't know what is. Just last year, the entire Kardashian and Jenner squad made an appearance on the 50th anniversary cover of the popular magazine, Cosmopolitan. The cover featured Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, and their mother, Kris Jenner. This 50th-anniversary issue was a BIG deal, and it says a lot that the Kardashians and Jenners were chosen to be featured on the cover. In addition to being featured on the cover, the family had a 16-page spread within the issue. This issue is part of my collection of magazines that feature any or all of the Kardashians and Jenners on the cover. Kendall Jenner, the older sister of Kylie Jenner, has had her fair share of success as well. Her modeling career took off in 2014 when she made appearances on runways all over the world. She has walked the runway for numerous designers, ranging from Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger to Balmain and Chanel. Kendall has been included in the group that has been titled the next generation of supermodels. It's easy to say that Kendall is goals AF. The Kardashians and Jenners have had so much success as a result of their many talents, and it is absurd that people fail to recognize this.

People also like to call the Kardashians and Jenners selfish because they have had so much success. For her 35th birthday, Kim Kardashian invited every fan that she follows on Twitter out to Los Angeles for a lavish brunch to celebrate her big day. She paid for their flights and treated them to lunch at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, California. This was obviously not cheap, and it shows how much she cares about her fans and how generous she is to them. This was the first time I ever heard of a celebrity doing something like this for his or her fans. Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the squad, is also very generous with her money. She has made it a tradition to visit a children's hospital on or near her birthday to give out gifts to all of the children. Kylie could be out celebrating, but instead, she takes the time to visit these children who are suffering from various illnesses and diseases. Not only does Kylie visit these hospitals, but she really enjoys meeting her young fans and putting smiles on their faces. Many celebrities are not nearly as generous as the Kardashians and Jenners and have never been called selfish. People just love to hate on the Kardashian and Jenner women.

When people say they are tired of seeing the Kardashians and Jenners all over the media I honestly have no idea what they are talking about. Hearing about what they are doing is one of my guilty pleasures. I love seeing their pictures on Snapchat and Instagram and reading their tweets. The day that Kendall Jenner got Snapchat was an extremely exciting day for me.

I find it extremely awkward when people talk crap about the Kardashians to me because they obviously do not realize how obsessed with them I am. I'm proud to be a mega fan and really don't care what negative things people have to say about them. The day that the series finale of Keeping Up With The Kardashians airs will be a very sad day for me, but I'll worry about that when the time comes.

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
