Why I'm A Female And I'm Not Voting For Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton sucks, period.

Why I'm A Female And I'm Not Voting For Hillary Clinton

For starters, I'll say that my entire family is a part of the Democratic party. They're all pro-union, something that Hillary claims she's in full support of. I, myself, have voted Democrat before. I'm sick and tired of people saying that they're voting for Hillary because "It'd be nice to have a female president." I'm a female too, obviously, but there's absolutely no way I can vote for Hillary Clinton and here're a couple reasons why.

1. Her comment degrading nurses.

Clinton once stated that "nurses were overpaid and nothing but doctor's handmaids." Being a nursing major, I can't see myself voting for someone who degrades my chosen profession, but claims to support all unions. Nurses are part of a union, and I can't see her supporting people she claimed were nothing but a step-down from a doctor.

2. Benghazi.

Clinton is a pathological liar about the whole Benghazi tragedy. Her failure to act and her countless excuses as to why she didn't makes me sick. We know for a fact based on State Department documents that Benghazi was a terrorist attack, she let four people die.

3. Landing in Bosnia.

Clinton claimed that she landed under sniper fire in Bosnia. When in reality, she and Chelsea were seen in a video strolling across the Bosnian tarmac smiling and receiving flowers from well-wishers.

4. Lying about being a public servant.

Clinton claims to be a public servant and having "sacrificed" 30 years in public service. She hasn't sacrificed anything, she's lived the progressive dream for years.

5. Lying about being "dead broke" when she left the White House.

A few weeks before they left the White House, the Clinton's were able to muster a cashdown payment of $855,000 and secure a $1.995 million mortgage. This hardly fits the common meaning of "dead broke."

Her tons and tons of lies are a red flag for me. I don't care if she's a female and she'd be the first woman president. Martin Luther King claims that people should be judged on "the content of their character." To me, Clinton's character isn't helping her chances of winning this election. Even though I'm a democrat and a female, I think that anyone would be better than Hillary Clinton as our next president. I'm not voting for her, and you shouldn't either. While I think that neither Trump nor Clinton are good enough candidates to run this country, I'd take Trump's blatant and sometimes harsh honesty over Clinton's flip-flop personality any day. Trump has been consistent in what he's been saying he'd do as president, but Clinton has been changing her plans each and every press conference.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
