This year, I decided to take on the scary task of participating in Vlogmas. What is Vlogmas exactly? Well, it varies depending on the creator, but the base of it is daily vlogging from December 1-25, and posting every single day. That not only means trying to be creative and go on adventures, but find time to edit and post your adventures for the world to see every single day.
Is it a lot? Yes. But, people for the most part love watching them.
I've been crazy into the YouTube world for about three years now. I have people who's videos I can't wait to see every day or week. And lately, I've loved watching people's vlogs. In these video blogs, this is where people are the most raw, and they're just going about their day seeing where life takes them. It's interesting to me that people are willing to put their lives out there like that.
So, why can't I do that?
Christmas is by far my favorite time of year. The lights, the music, the energy; it's just the best thing to me. Last year, I felt like I didn't do too many exciting things because I was working so much. I was also in Disney, and didn't get to take advantage of all the excitement.
But this year, I decided things needed to change. So, by doing so, I took on the task of also participating in Vlogmas.
I am currently 10 days in and it has not been easy. I still have anxiety about talking to a camera in public. I don't always feel like leaving my apartment every day, so knowing that I have to make a video of some sort forces me to get off of my couch and go somewhere. I also have to make sure I edit the footage and post a video every day. And, to be frank, it's hard.
I have so much more respect for daily vloggers now. I also understand why they enjoy it so much. I get to look back at these videos and remember the cool things I've done. I got to capture moments of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the Candlelight Processional featuring Neil Patrick Harris, meeting all 15 Disney princesses in one day, and so much more. And there are still many more days I have left to make these memories and capture them on video.
Have I gone viral? No. Do I get many views? Not really. But, I have had comments saying that they love my videos and hope I continue on. And that's what gets me to turn the camera on each day, knowing that I made myself and at least one person smile.
Here's my very first day of Vlogmas below! And, if you'd like, hit that subscribe button and follow the rest of my adventures.
Happy Vlogmas!
