Why I'm A College Student And I'm Not Voting For Donald Trump

We've all been there. Whether it's watching the news or scrolling through your Facebook feed, Donald Trump has never ceased to amaze us. (I don't use the term "amazed" in a positive light here, by the way.) Let me first say that because I am not voting for Donald Trump, this does not mean I am voting for Hillary Clinton. My views do not belong to any political party. While I'm typically able to disregard the few Trump supporters I encounter, a recent article I read (which explains why voting for Trump as a college student is the right path to go down) had me compelled to configure a list of the counter arguments to all the main reasons he is praised. Let's start, shall we?

He's not a politician.

People use this fact in efforts to explain why they support him like no other. Wait... what? Oh! I get it. It's kind of like how sometimes I don't want my doctor to actually be a doctor, but an electrician. That way they actually know what they're talking about. He is uninformed on a wide range of issues this country faces. And if you say you favor a businessman over a politician running for presidency because you think all politicians are corrupt liars, it's quite ignorant to suggest that not just anyone will lie their way to the Oval Office. The lack of experience in this field should not only be alarming but serves as a huge indicator that America should not be run by a man because he got bored and thought this free trial sounded fun. He can't even tell the difference from the words of a fascist dictator from his own. (This is true, by the way.)

His immigration policy is common sense.

Which part? The ethnocentrism, xenophobia, or indisputable racist flair? If I had to sum up his plans in one word, it would be clueless. So clueless, that it's laughable. No, his glorious wall that would halt all of America's problems would not in any way, shape, or form be funded by Mexico. His proposal of mass deportations not only lacks compassion, but also the 600 billions dollars it would eat up over the next 20 years. Ending birthright citizenship, which was established by the 14th amendment, would chip away at the Constitution that Republicans fight so hard to preserve. And banning Muslims? A war waged against a religion in it's entirety is troubling to say the least. Trump comes with many more flawed intentions that would cost an overwhelming amount of funds that simply isn't there. In addition, you hold no other real plans in regards to policies. He never really explains how he intends for things to be done. The little bit you've offered when questioned about your intentions in no way reflects a plan that would be prosperous to this country or it's economy and the ideals/ values we uphold.

He's so accomplished.

He boasts in his egotistical arrogance of being "really rich and successful." Sure, he's made more money than the average person will in their lifetime. However, he fails to include the fact he's gone bankrupt several times. He literally insisted that his own estimation of his net worth changes depending on his mood. He has invested in a number of business opportunities that have failed miserably. His financial instincts do not promote stability in the slightest. On another note, the constant implications that he is self funding his campaign is an extreme stretch. The majority of his campaign funds are loans he has taken out which in turn will be paid back by campaign donations. He also forgets to mention that he has taken more than 15 million dollars worth of individual donations. Lastly, how could he even remotely relate to an average American's pocket?

He's tough.

He's insecure. He constantly makes personal attacks on people. His main defense mechanism is to sue someone. He has repeatedly threatened people with lawsuits and fails to follow through. Rather than standing by his word, he claims that he never made statements in which there is clear proof of. He does not take responsibility for the numerous projects that have failed under his name. His inconsistencies of differing opinions are troubling. He has not shown strength, responsibility, or stableness whatsoever in his life.

He says it how it is.

I'll just let him do the talking:

In response to the Black Lives Matter movement he insisted that, "There’s no such thing as racism anymore. We’ve had a black president so it’s not a question anymore. Are they saying black lives should matter more than white lives or Asian lives? If black lives matter, then go back to Africa? We’ll see how much they matter there.”

He explained why so many children have Autism by suggesting vaccines. "We had so many instances, people that work for me, just the other day, 2 years old, a beautiful child, went to have the vaccine and came back and a week later got a tremendous fever, got very, very sick, now is autistic."

As the recent tragedy in Orlando unfolded, he bragged, "Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don't want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!"

While speaking on America's trade deficit with China, he mentioned, "We can't continue to allow China to rape our country." Rape references are so classy!

His famous quote on Mexican immigrants tells all. "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending the best. They're not sending you, they're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. ... And some, I assume, are good people."

Oh, and his reference to blacks is pretty enlightening. “Laziness is a trait in the blacks. ... Black guys counting my money! I hate it.”

Damn, Donald! Back at it again with the stereotypes! "The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yamakas every day.”

Gotta love his empowerment toward women! "Arianna Huffington is unattractive both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man--he made a good decision," and, “All the women on 'The Apprentice' flirted with me — consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected," and, “You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass,” and, “I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her," and "All of the men, we're petrified to speak to women anymore. We may raise our voice. You know what? The women get it better than we do, folks. They get it better than we do. If she didn't play that card, she has nothing," and, "You're disgusting," to an opposing lawyer who requested a medical break to pump breast milk for her three-month-old daughter.

And lastly, here you have it, “One of the key problems today is that politics is such a disgrace. Good people don’t go into government.”

He will make America great again.

How, where, who, when, and why? This is an extraordinarily blank statement. Would you like to backtrack the past few decades of immense progress America has seen? Maybe take us 50 years back to eliminate the strides we have taken in equality across the board? Or possibly you'd just like women to feel itemized as they look up to a First Lady who is famous for promiscuous nude modeling. Would you like to become the world's most hated enemy because of your childish idea to become "the best" despite the opposition that our democracy is meant to guide? Is America great when we promote a false pride that divides us internally rather than working together toward peace? Perhaps it's when America is seen as a country who is led by a classless and tasteless man who transformed the role of a president into a joke. Who knows... I don't think he even knows.

Oh, Donald. Some people just love you. I don't blame them. You are an entertainer. You feed people what they want to hear. You give the people drama. People love you so much, they've actually been seen giving you a Nazi salute. Last year when I found out you were actually running, I laughed. I continued to laugh at the ignorant things you have said. As time went on the laughter turned into sighs of concern. I could no longer laugh when I saw people turning to you for an outlet of hatred toward others. I couldn't laugh any longer because the idea of you as president of the United States absolutely horrified me. I want to have children someday, but I can't fathom them growing up in a world you created. You are an old joke that some people are still for some reason wooed by. Yet, it's unfathomable to me how you are still being glorified by so many people. My hope for this article is not to sway those who believe in you, because I know ignorance and hateful passions can not easily be overcome by knowledge and insight which is not welcomed. But maybe, just maybe - people will soon unveil who you really are. Because no other presidential candidate in the history of the United States has been such a bigot that they have a song named after them such as "FDT (F*** Donald Trump)."

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.

There are a lot of foods in this world, but there is only one dish that stands above the rest: Pizza. If you're close to me or at least know who I am, then you know that I'm totally obsessed with pizza. It's one of my favorite things to eat and I will NEVER turn down a slice, even if it doesn't have my favorite toppings. There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not thinking about pizza. I even sleep with a pizza pillow every night! There are many reasons why pizza stands above all other foods, and here are just a couple reasons why.
