Why I'll Never Mind A Bit Of Wanderlust

Most people at one time or another want to travel somewhere. The world is a huge place open for adventure, meaning wanderlust runs rampant, at least for me. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to travel everywhere possible. I wanted to see every state and try to see each city in my state, which, I will admit I still wouldn’t mind accomplishing.Wanderlust is an incredible thing in itself. It drives people to experience new places and things and makes adventurers out of average people. For me, it's done so much more than make me want to travel. It's given me something to do when I'm upset, a reason to learn an abundance of languages, and even something to talk about if a conversation lulls.

People move around. It’s only human nature. Whether we go to the next city or halfway around the world, part of us will always want to spread out or have a change of scenery. It’s why humans have been almost everywhere on Earth and why many of us support the exploration of space. Even with this desire to see new places and move around, part of us will still want to maintain a tie to our home. We go home to family for holidays, visit our hometown for reunions and homecomings, and on occasion visit the country or countries of our origin. We want to remember or imagine what life was like and create new experiences on top of those already existing.

Some travelers go around the world for some form of education. Studying abroad is an incredible experience that many are lucky enough to have. However, there are other ways one would learn in another country. People who are interested in history and other cultures may travel to areas of other countries that have historic architecture, museums or areas that the culture is prevalent. Aside from learning about the local history and culture, people may also travel in order to immerse themselves in the language. Whether or not one has any knowledge of the language beforehand, surrounding oneself with the language can make it easier to learn and understand.

Others still may travel because they want to see the world. These people may wish to travel for anything from the cuisine to learning the history and folklore of the area to taking beautiful pictures for Instagram. To these travelers, the "where" isn’t the most important part of traveling. They may find it more important to see new things, meet new people, or travel the world with those they care about.

Wanderlust encompasses a wide range of people and each person has their own reasons to travel and explore the world around them. I have always been obsessed with travel and it’s only become a greater part of me with time. At one point or another, I have wanted to travel for each of those reasons. The world is a beautiful place. Whatever the reason and wherever the place, take every chance you get to explore the world and create new experiences.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
