Why I write

Writing is my preferred medium of expression.

Why I write

Ever since I was little, I've always struggled with writing. The grammatical construction of sentences was just such a stickler for me and to this day is a problem when I write anything. I always thought content was going to be my thing.

However, I am very tenacious person and I love taking on challenges. Writing was another challenge for me. Writing was a challenge I was willing to take on full-steam. The thought that I could not write made me want to write that much more.

For me, writing was about educating others and expressing myself to anybody that would listen. It was a gateway to the outside world. The medium with which I interacted and thought. However, fiction writing never did it for me. After dealing with many hardships, dealing with fictional problems was just too much for me. Personally, I prefer writing about topics germane to sports or healthcare. I am a sports and health fanatic, so writing about these topics comes easier to me than others.

As artificial intelligent and software programs are becoming more sophisticated. Likely, most technical jobs could be done by computers and software programs. It is more difficult, if not impossible, for writing and more creative jobs to be automated. Most fields require that you have a certain knowledge of statistics and programming. Making less of a need for people who are just specialist in those areas.

Most people do not have the time or energy to read books or to read about any topic in depth. I often wonder who actually reads books? Who has the academic background while reading it to get enough out of it to make it worthwhile reading?

Most of the process involved in publishing an article as little to do with writing. Anything piece can be edited and polished. There are ghost writers, I have been a ghost writer for a former ambassador even, there are freelance copywriters. Even the content itself may not originate back to the author. In almost all cases, the idea of the piece is the author's own imagination. As independent and poor writer, I am involved in the entire process. Anything I publish is due to my own whit and sweat in editing. The only person I plagiarize is myself.

Writing for me is a form of truth telling. Every article published comes with its own liability; if you publish it, you own it. In many cases, the risk of publishing an article far exceeds the reward that comes with publishing. What is left for the writing as a reward is his message to the reader; it is his reason for writing.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
