My time at Mississippi State University has only just begun. It has only been 3 weeks, but already I am so glad that I chose to come to this amazing place. Here is why.

First of all, everyone here is so nice. I know it gets said time and time again, but really it is true. There is always someone to help you whether it's trying to help you find your class or offering to give you a ride from Barnes and Noble all the way back to north campus where your dorm is!

What is also nice about Mississippi State is how diverse it is. There are so many different types of people here that you see everywhere just while walking to class. Mississippi State truly is a place where you can be one hundred percent you without fear as to what will come from that.

Mississippi State was the only college I toured where instead of envisioning myself there, I was instead thinking to myself about how I never wanted to leave. It seems that no matter what college campus you tour, people will try to convince you that their university is one big family and that they are ready for you to join. I''m sure each and everyone of you had the same experience I mentioned somewhere else.

However, no convincing was needed in order for me to see this at Mississippi State. I saw this in the ways they encouraged students from the very beginning to become involved in whatever they are interested in whether it is in freshman groups, intramural soccer, Greek life, or multicultural groups.

As an out of state student, I did not fear coming to Mississippi State because I knew it was a place that would help me in achieving my goals and where I would find people similar to myself who believe in the great power of this university.

I toured this university twice. The first time it rained almost the whole time; however that did not deter me. The bad rainy day made me realize Mississippi State was a place I would gladly call home even when the bad days do come.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
