Why How I Met Your Mother Will Never Get Old
Screen Rant

The show "How I Met Your Mother" used to be one of those shows I only saw as a re-run when I had already watched everything recorded on the DVR. Now that I am an official Netflix junkie, I figured it was time to make the series my next binge-watch show of choice after finishing the very frustrating but brilliant "Gilmore Girls." It was definitely a good decision. Now, I have an amazing appreciation for this show and all the characters in it.

1. Lily and Marshall are actual couple goals.

I only hope to have a relationship and marriage that is as perfect as their's. Even when they have a horrible argument, they work it out and are even better than ever afterward. They are best friends and partners-in-crime. They stand by each other through the good times and the bad and will forever be couple goals because of it.

2. Barney can make you laugh on even the worst days.

While the actor playing Barney, Neil Patrick Harris, is definitely gay, he sure doesn't act like it in the show. He is willing to do anything and everything to get a girl. While his attempts at getting girls are the funniest part of the show, he does have a heart under the suit. Plus, I only wish I had that kind of confidence. *High five*

3. Robin is the best friend we all want to have.

I personally feel like Robin is my spirit animal. She is not afraid to tell it like it is and is always a loyal friend. You know she will tell you the truth and won't sugarcoat it. She is focused on her career but grows to be someone that is open to love. She is able to be friends with her exes with minimal complications, which is a huge accomplishment.

4. Ted's hopefulness for the future is inspiring.

Ted goes on so many dates throughout the story of how he met the mother of his children. He even goes through job problems leading up to his eventual career of being an architect professor. He falls in love so deeply and no matter how many times he is knocked down, he gets right back up again. He maintains a positive outlook on the future and gets the great love he deserves.

5. Their friendship lasts forever.

Despite all the breakups, makeups, job troubles and relationship failures, their friendship withstood it all. No matter how much time passes or where life takes them, the bond these five share is inseparable.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
