Homecoming is coming.

Why Homecoming is the Best Weekend of the Year
Maria Magidenko

It is November. The leaves are falling along with the temperature (and some snow, too!). Midterms have passed, as has Halloween. What does that mean for a Williams College student? This must mean that Homecoming is coming, of course! Why the excitement? Read on to find out.

1. School spirit.

Whether you actually like football or not, you will find yourself wanting to pile on every purple and/or gold article of clothing you own. You will also likely chant "Go Ephs" or "Let's go, purp" at least twenty times over the course of the day.

2. Football.

I come from the Midwest, where college football is highly anticipated and valued. Football is not as big of a part of my college experience at this school as it would have been back home, so it is nice to have a slice of that excitement about the sport for this one weekend.

3. Tailgating.

This is the one weekend of the year when people park their cars, pop their trunks open, blast music, grill and chill. Teams and friends get together and have fun for once instead of grinding away in the library on a Saturday afternoon.

4. Alumni.

Many alumni come back for the weekend to catch up with other alumni or current undergraduate students. You can reconnect with those who have left recently, and meet new people who graduated long before you will. They are interesting to talk to. And it is wonderful to see how they keep coming back long after they have received their diplomas.

5. Community.

If you have been feeling down because of all of your work recently, you will feel excited about being a Williams student all over again. And you can almost sense the entire campus swept up in the same feeling. Homecoming is a truly unifying experience. So Happy Homecoming and let's go, Ephs!

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

music sheet

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
