Why Hillary Clinton Doesn't Empower Women

It is no secret that Hillary Clinton is running for president. She is the first woman in history to get this close to holding the highest title in America, but is she the right woman for the job? I do applaud her for her dedication trying to reach this position but she is not the woman I want to represent this country and be known as the first female president the United States of America.

So why doesn't she empower women you may ask. Back in the day, specifically the year 1998, Bill Clinton publicly commented on his infidelity. Hillary could have dropped him like a hot tamale and been a positive example to women showing us that if he cheats you don't need him in your life. But she didn't. Instead, she stayed.

Just in that tiny example, she showed us what not to do. She showed women all across the world that if he cheats it's okay. She had that opportunity to show people not to stay in an unhealthy relationship even if it is in the spotlight but she decided that she would stay with a man who lied to his country and took advantage of a White House intern.

I am not going to mention the corrupt things Hillary has done or the email scandal or the fact that she doesn't even know what she believes (but just throwing those things out there.) But I will mention that she is not a woman who cares about raising the female stereotype, she cares about keeping a certain status. She is known for two things really: deleting emails and being Bill Clinton's wife. She is not known for standing up for her self when she was done wrong. This is why she doesn't empower women.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
