My little sister and I have always been pretty close, even when we were little and she was always getting me in trouble. We're only a year apart, so in my case it was almost like having a twin. Either way, I'm thankful for my little sister because:
1. I always have someone to hang out with.
Whether I'm grounded or my friends are blowing me off, I know my little sister will always be there for me to hang out with and annoy.
2. It's like having two wardrobes because we're the same size.
If I can't find anything to wear in my closet, I'll just take something from my sister's! She has way cuter clothes than I do, and I never have to shop because she gets new clothes all the time. It's kind of like a backwards hand-me-down where she gives me all her stuff. Works for me!
3. She's the only one who really understands our crazy family.
No one understands how weird your family is besides your siblings. No one.
4. We hate the same people.
There is no bond like mutual hatred, and being a sister, you are automatically required to hate anyone your sister hates. It's a law.
5. She's not scared to be honest with me.
Unlike friends who don't want to hurt your feelings, your sister will tell you that a shirt makes you look fat. She would rather have you be upset with her than let you look bad in public.
6. We have twice the experience to analyze when it comes to boy advice.
Two girls means twice as much experience with boys, which means twice as many real-life situations to compare yours to when you need boy advice.
7. We are always there to bail each other out.
Is your sister about to get caught sneaking a boy into her room? Tell mom an excuse about that loud thud that came from her room, that definitely was not a boy falling through the window...
8. She knows when something is wrong and knows what to do to help.
Sometimes it's easier to hide being sad than it is to talk about it, but a little sister doesn't buy it. She knows when something is wrong and will come home with a Redbox movie and ice cream to share while you vent to her and cry.
9. We'll be there for each other no matter what.
A fight with a sister can seem like World War III, but there will be a truce immediately when we need each other. Nothing could stop sisters from being there for each other when needed.
10. She teaches me a lot.
It's pretty cliche that the older sister is supposed to teach the younger sister the ropes, but for me, I think my little sister does most of the teaching. She's wise beyond her years and always puts things into perspective for me when I'm freaking out. Without her, I wouldn't know how to handle half the things I come across in life. I look up to her and all that she's accomplished, and I'm proud to call her my little sister.
