A Thank You to My Boyfriend

Thank you for being the greatest thing that happened to me.

A Thank You to My Boyfriend

I met you when I was at cross roads with myself. I was trying to clean up the mess that I got myself into. I was stressed about graduation, my grandma being sick, losing all my friends at the same time. I never expected to come this far, to be honest with you. You seemed like you had it all together and I was just an awkward girl. You quickly became the closest person to me.

I met you in a parking lot on a very cold, rainy night. You told me you had just got out of work. I was with two other friends that night and I swore you were just trying to get with one of them, little did I know you were actually looking at me. Fast forward a week, I decided to message you on Snapchat. I got to know you a little better and we decided to hangout. I can't deny that I was scared. More scared than I've been. I knew you were special and I knew I couldn't mess this up. I knew you had a messy past with relationships and I just wanted to make this all work out. We kept hanging out more and more. We had stopped talking for a little while but I realized how important you are to me. I asked you one afternoon, "Are we dating?" you responded "Yeah, what did you think this was?" Since we didn't really have a "date" we settled on March 11th.

Seven months later, I'm still here constantly questioning myself on how I really got you to like me! I was such a goofball when I first met you. I'm happy, though. You take up a little piece of my heart now. This quote reminds me of you "When love is not madness, it is not love." Absolutely no one understands us. One minute we are teasing each other, the next we are actually hugging (barely anyone sees that side of us). We tend to always show people the goofy side of us. I think that's why everyone loves us together. That's why I love us together. You have made these past few months more than anything I could ask for. It might be such a miniature amount of time but you are the best person that i've ever known.

Thank you for: Endless dates at Applebee's and Vincent's. Constantly getting me McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Burger Bite, Baskin Robbins, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Sonic, Chinese food. The 1000000000 medium mocha frappes, Blue Rasberry Slurpies, Trolli sour gummy worms, Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Movie night. The night when we went to the rocks (even though you tried pushing me into the water.) Getting me addicted to country music. Getting me to try new food even though I was scared to. Helping me with work for school. Being there for me when I needed someone to talk to. Always pushing me to do things even though I'm super lazy. Always motivating me. Making me smile after you get me so angry. The funny voices you talk in. Dealing with my random singing and dancing. Also dealing with my obsession with the Rangers and the Mets.

Thank you for everything you do, and everything you will do in the future. You mean the world to me and I'm happy I have you by my side. Even though we have our moments, I love you more than anything. You're the best thing to ever happen to me.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.
