Sure, I love dressing up for Halloween and I love the free candy that is E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E. And yes, Christmas is super fun, festive, and everything smells good. But the real MVP of holidays has to be Thanksgiving.
1. Think of all the food.
2. Going home and spending time with friends and family
3. Friendsgiving
4. If you're old enough, you know the importance of the Wednesday before Thanksgiving
5. Pumpkin Pie
6. Naps are acceptable
7. If you're a football fan, then there's the tradition of game day.
8. Turkey
9. Stuffing
10. Mashed Potatoes
11. Green Bean Casserole
11. Okay, I just started to name foods. You get the point.
12. Leftovers (Sorry, last food, I swear)
13. Being thankful and grateful
So mostly, the important thing about Thanksgiving is the food. But it's also a day for relaxing with your family and/or friends. It's a day to celebrate each other. I know the history behind this holiday is somewhat gruesome, but the meaning behind it is so much more. It's a day to celebrate everything that you have been lucky for throughout the year. You might just be thankful that you made it through midterms and you only have a couple weeks of school before a long break. But I hope that this holiday, you find something to be grateful for.
