Why Halloween Is The Best

It's the most wonderful time of the year, tbh.

Why Halloween Is The Best

A question that has always been difficult for me to answer is, "What is your favorite holiday?" They all seem so great for different reasons, I can’t pick just one! But, Halloween is definitely in my top three favorites. What's so great about it, you ask? I can think of a few different answers for that.

1. Candy!

One of my favorite things about Halloween is the candy. Reese’s Pumpkins are the best. Also, if you go to Target and buy seven bags of chocolate, no one will judge you because they will just think you’re passing them out to trick or treaters. But the joke is on them, because you’re actually going to go home and eat all of it yourself.

2. Trick-or-Treating

The only thing better than candy is free candy! Don’t listen to the haters who say nonsense like “You’re too old for that” or “That candy is only for children.” That’s discrimination, and you can sue them for all of the candy they have. It’s your right to go trick-or-treating if you want. Seriously, I think that’s an amendment in the Constitution or something. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of free candy.

3. Practical Jokes

Halloween is the perfect time to play pranks, because everything just seems a little spookier around this time. Go ahead, hide in corners and jump out at people, or chase your friends with chainsaws. The possibilities are endless.

4. Costumes

This is a more obvious reason why Halloween rocks. You can literally dress up as anything you want. You want to be Edward from "Twilight"? Cool, go for it. You want to show your true alien form without people being suspicious and finding out that you’re not actually a human, but instead masquerading as one to learn earth’s secrets and one day take over? You can do that too!

5. Haunted Houses

I don’t know about you, but I love haunted houses. I get to walk around a building with fake decorations while people jump out and scare me. Fun, right? I think the best part about it is when I accidentally punch the characters in the face because they are there unexpectedly when I turn a corner. The look on their face is priceless.

6. Pumpkin Carving

Not only is this fun, but it is also a cute fall date idea. Who doesn’t love stabbing an inanimate object over and over again until you get a subpar image on it? Also, pumpkin seeds are pretty delicious.

So as you can see, Halloween is one of the best holidays. Even if you're not into the spookiness that Halloween brings during the month of October, there are still many other reasons to enjoy it. And if you're into the spooky stuff, it's an added bonus. Happy Halloween!

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
