Why Greyhounds Make The Best Pets
Easy Pet MD

Three years ago, my family adopted a greyhound. Greyhounds are the sweetest, most lovable pets you will ever encounter. However, these dogs need your help. Most greyhounds are forced into the cruel racing world early on and are retired once they are either injured or too old to bring the race masters money. These elegant hounds are in need of warm and loving homes. Here are several reasons why you should adopt a greyhound:

1. They are amazing family dogs

Greyhounds are perfect animals to have around babies, and children of any age. They adapt to family settings and show immense amounts of love, loyalty, companionship, and protectiveness.

2. They don’t need to have an excessive amount of exercise

Surprisingly, greyhounds are actually quite the couch potato. After years of racing, laying around seems pretty appealing. They don’t need massive land area as long as they have a fenced in yard. Lots of running will not be needed as long as they are taken on walks every once in a while.

3. They can fill a void in your heart

Sometimes all it takes is a pure dog to put some extra happiness and meaning into your life. A companion is all you need by your side that will never judge you for anything. All they see is beauty and life through their big, round eyes.

4. They are warm and soft

Don’t have enough blankets in the winter? No problem, snuggle up to your fur baby. Plus, petting a soft hound is proven to be therapeutic after a long, hard day. Greyhound fur is often compared to the silliness of bunny rabbits.

5. They aren’t a ton of work to take care of

Greyhounds need love, some exercise, a warm bed, and a safe and protective environment. Plus they are generally healthy dogs because of their lean and fit lifestyle.

6. They don’t shed as much

Lots of fur loss is a deal breaker for some, but greyhounds shed little to none. Their coat is sleek and thin, so they do not need to be constantly brushed and bathed.

Even though this amazing type of hound doesn’t involve much work to take care of; dental, physical, and mental health are always priorities for all animals. Greyhounds should also be kept on a fairly lean diet as to help them maintaIn their athletic build. If you have any questions, please contact http://www.alliesforgreyhounds.org/

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
