While some of your friends may be going on awesome vacations to tropical places, or meeting their significant other's family, or even traveling around Europe for a week of fun the less fortunate ones are just heading back home. Although that may not seem as exciting as other people's spring breaks there are many forgotten perks about going home. Here are the top 5 reasons why going home is better than going anywhere else.
1. Your bed at home is just more comfortable. My favorite part about going home(sorry mom) is the fact that I can lay in my bed for hours on in. My bed is one that just hugs me back and makes me never want to leave.
2. You can finally get into a good workout routine. There is something about being home and laying around all day that reminds me how much I should actually go to the gym. I also live 45 minutes from the beach so the weather is always great to run in. I set mini-goals and normally get them accomplished while I am home.
3. We don't have to think about food. Everyone says they love going home because mom always makes your favorite meals. Whether that is shrimp scampi or stuffed chicken, normally you can find your favorite meal once while home.
4. You earn money. Going home is great because normally I can pick up a few shifts at my work. While all my friends are out getting gorgeously tan and spending too much money at the bars — I will be making money.
5. A mom's hug is really the best. My mom is one of my favorite people so when I get to go home and see her it is a real treat. She showers me with love and attention (sometimes too much, like c'mon I need a little space) but it is so fun to cuddle up and watch our favorite crime shows together.
Going home for break may not seem like the most fun place to be when all your friends are going to exotic places but your home has so much to offer. Sometimes the smell of your mom doing your laundry, your high school friends talking about the one who got away and the unlimited amount of food in your fridge is all you really need to have the best spring break.
