Ah, so possibly the greatest sitcom to ever grace American television has had a reunion, and unless you've been living under a rock for the past year or so, you are well aware. When Fuller House debuted on Netflix for the first time last Christmas, a lot of us 90's kids were taken back to a simpler time in life, and we loved it. So, imagine how ecstatic we all were when we found out Season 2 would be coming out this year! It just reached viewers on December 9th, and I am proud to say that I binge-watched all 13 episodes in one night. I may have hated myself the next morning, but I assure you: I have seemingly no regrets.
When Season 1 aired, it took some adjusting to get used to the new sense of humor that comes with a new generation of actors. The first season was about setting the tone for the rest of the show. The cast was just getting back together, they were getting to know each other as entertainers again, and the new kids were getting used to working with old cast members as well. The first season followed DJ, Kimmy, and Stephanie through their many adventures as the "She-Wolfpack" (*howls*). Throughout this season, the cast repeatedly noted on the youngest sister Michelle's absence, which I found to be a very comical way of possibly bringing her character back into the show later on. At the end of the first season, Kimmy didn't marry Fernando, Stephanie was still trying to begin a singing career, and DJ was left with the choice to choose between Matt and Steve.
*WARNING: POSSIBLE PRESENCE OF SPOILER ALERTS*
The second season put Season 1 to shame! I could tell that this season the cast were very used to one another, and they portrayed a loving family much better than the first season. The actors flowed together so much better, and the cheesy one-liners were delivered with much more ease. The actors seemed to feed off of each other just like in the original show, and it was heart-warming. Also, throughout the season, the cast does not reference the absence of Michelle's character once, which I found refreshing. Season 2 begins with DJ whispering to Tommy who she has picked between Matt and Steve. (Unfortunately, the viewers don't find out who she actually picked until the last 2 minutes of the very last episode.) I will give away some minor details: DJ and Matt get back together, Steve has a girlfriend that is remarkably similar to DJ, and Stephanie starts dating Kimmy's brother, Jimmy. The second season of Fuller House delivered the funny things that fans love so much, but it also incorporated the heart-warming family stuff, too.
One of my favorite things about Season 2 is that it showed Max's character grow a lot. Viewers watch him become one of the key roles in delivering those classic one-liners that we Full House fans love. Max is definitely deserving of the title "soon-to-be heartthrob" because his character is just that. At only the age of 8, Max knows how to treat a girl, which the audience will come to find out.
Also one of my favorite things about Season 2 is the way they included Danny, Jesse, Joey, and Becky in the show. This time around you see the original cast members back in their original roles of being the loving, caring parental-types, and each of them fell back into their roles perfectly. (*SPOILER ALERT*) Jesse and Becky decide to adopt a baby after all, and the final episode shows them revealing their precious baby girl to the family. I was in tears when they announced that the name would be Pamela, after Danny's late wife, and DJ and Stephanie's mom.
Season 2 restored my faith in the show because it completely shattered my expectations for what to expect after Season 1. I could go on about my favorite things from this season, but I think you should see it for yourself.
