Why Friendsgiving Is The Best Holiday Trend

Urban dictionary defines Friendsgiving as “the celebration of Thanksgiving dinner with your friends.” Having recently emerged as one of the newer holiday season trends, Friendsgiving does an amazing job of bringing people together. With the stress that much of the holiday season brings, Friendsgiving gives good friends the chance to sit down for a little, indulge in incredible food, and bring people together. Here’s why Friendsgiving is truly the greatest holiday season trend:

Two Thanksgiving dinners

What could be better? We all shamelessly love the food that Thanksgiving brings, so why not enjoy it twice? And besides, Friendsgiving usually happens before everyone goes home for the holidays, so we all have about a week to recover from one food coma in order to be able to take on the next.

The best company

Not only do we get really great food, Friendsgiving is truly the event that brings all of your favorite people together. The company, good times, and new memories created over Friendsgiving dinner are some that could last a lifetime.

Old and New traditions

When done as a potluck style dinner, you get to experience all of the great recipes that your friends find themselves eating in their own homes for the holidays. When done at a restaurant, you get to choose a new place to bring you all together, or eat at one of your favorites. Either way, new traditions are bound to emerge.

It’s a time to truly realize what you’re thankful for

When you’re sitting around the table laughing, eating, and spending time with all of your closest friends, you truly get to realize everything you’re thankful for.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
