Christopher Edwin Breaux, better known as Frank Ocean. Singer, songwriter, rapper and one of my favorite artists; he is super talented and has so many great songs. He has two studio albums and one mixtape. He released his first album, Channel Orange in 2012 and now four years later his second one Blonde was released. He made us wait four years, four years too long. For someone that talented, I wish he would release an album every year, but I guess you cannot rush perfection. Here are a few reasons why he’s the best:

1. He used to be a ghostwriter

He wrote songs for other artists such as Justin Bieber, John Legend, and Beyoncé. These are very popular artists themselves, and knowing that he composed some songs of theirs makes him even more incredible.

2. His songs and albums have received awards

Ocean received Artist of the Year by Attitude Magazine, he won International Male Artist at the Brit Awards, GLAAD Media Awards awarded him Outstanding Music Artist. He also won a Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album for Channel Orange and another Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “No Church in the Wild”. He won a GQ Award for Rookie of the Year, a Soul Train Music Award for Album of the Year for Channel Orange. He also won a UK Music Video Award for Bes Urban Video for “Novacane” and a Webby Award for Person of the Year.

3. He has an incredible voice

He really has a God given talent and he blesses us every time he holds up a mic. Frank Ocean can hit those high notes too... truly incredible. I have seen him sing live on TV and he sounds the same as when he records in a studio, not a lot of artists can do that. I hope to see him in concert one day, I am sure he will be incredible.

4. His lyrics mean something

Frank Ocean’s songs are so amazing. The lyrics actually mean something. He sings about relationships, personal reflection, social issues, and how are society is. His lyrics are filled with so much emotion and passion. Sometimes when I am listening to certain songs, feel like I am going to cry. I could listen to his songs on repeat all day. Some of my favorites are “Pyramids”, “Pink Matter”, “Thinking About You”, “Nikes”, “Electric Feel” and “Nights”.

5. He is real

Back in 2013, Ocean was asked to record a song for a campaign project for Chipotle promoting responsible farming. Chipotle representatives told him that there was no Chipotle reference or logo in the initial presentation but after this proved to be a lie, Ocean backed out and sent the check back. He did not like that they were lying and did not even want the money after that. Recently he had a brief interview for the first time in 3 years at the White House. First let me say he was at the State Dinner at the White House, which in itself is pretty cool. When one of the reporters got his attention, Ocean was asked why he was wearing Vans to a state dinner; his response was “You can’t think. You just have to do things”.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
