Why Football Season is the Greatest Time of Year

Two weekends ago, the college football season kicked off and last weekend the NFL season got started marking the greatest time of year. Football is back. From playing fantasy football, cooking out and having a good time at tailgates, and to nail biting finishes, the return of football marks a bright spot in almost everybody's life and is almost as good as Christmas morning is to younger kids.

One of the many things that makes the return of football so exciting, is the return of fantasy football. Every year, millions of men and women spend hours looking at their computers trying to have the best set team in their leagues that they compete against with friends, family and co-workers. While some do take it more seriously than others, fantasy football is one of the most compelling parts of football season, because it makes football fans more interested in all of the games that are being played rather than just their favorite team's game. Most people would still rather have their favorite team win the game rather than the opponent, but if you have a player that is on your fantasy team, then you probably will still root for that player to have a good game, but still come up on the short end of the stick. Fantasy football has made the NFL more popular than it ever has before, and the popularity will not stop growing there.

The next best part that is loved by all during football season is tailgating. Hanging out with your friends and family before the game to enjoy food, beer, corn hole and other games might be the best part of game day itself. Tailgating before your team plays has become one of the most popular parts for college and NFL fans. There is just something about having a brat and a beer before the game that gets fans fired up to go see their favorite team play. Not to mention a competitive game of corn hole that is possibly the greatest game ever invented.

Finally, the last great thing about football season besides never moving from the couch on Saturday's and Sunday's is all of the nail-biting moments. Every season, hundreds of games come down to just a few points that are won and lost on the turnover battle or special teams. Most of the time, special teams play a big role at the end of the game when a team can usually send a game into overtime or win it based on a kick. As Americans and fans, these are the moments that we live for. Heart pounding, dramatic moments to win or lose a game. If your team hits it then you will be extremely excited, but if they miss it then it might ruin your whole week.

Overall, having football back, is the greatest thing of all. Now on the weekends instead of doing yard work and other errands, fans can now sit for hours in front of their laptops and television watching hours of football.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
