As a person who loves art, I am always amazed to hear the different reasons why people say that they don't like art. For some reason, the top thing that people always seem to say is that they don't like art because they aren't any good at it. That's how you really know they haven't studied art, because if they did they would have had a professor drill into them that every person has a different beauty aesthetic and there is no such thing as "good." So I wanted everyone to know why I think they should put their judgement aside and give art a try.
1. It is extremely satisfying to make something
Everyone is always so busy and has so much pressure on them to stay busy. We all know how good it feels to get something done, and also how infrequently that actually happens. Whether you do it in the summer, for a whole semester, or just two hours you signed up for, art classes require you to finish the projects that you start. Trust me, that feeling is amazing.

2. It is a huge confidence booster
If you go into it with the right attitude, making art does wonders for your confidence. Like anything, there are people who are born with natural talent but anyone who works hard can also be successful. Once people are taught the right tips and tricks, they are often amazed at what they are capable of.
3. We all need a creative outlet
Honestly, I think that everyone is an artist in some way. You don't have to go to museums on the weekends or have a collection of paintbrushes to be an "art" person. Humans are creators and makers by nature, and sometimes people don't even realize that just because they are too afraid to try.
4.It brings put your individuality
Sometimes the best kinds of art classes are the ones where everyone is attempting the same thing, but in the end you look around and everyone's project turns out completely different. Back to that person beauty aesthetic mentioned in the beginning, everyone will naturally make their colors a little darker or their lines a little curvier based on what they find beautiful. No one's project ends up looking better or worse, because they are all just different.
5. It's super relaxing
This goes back to everyone being busy; everyone is also always trying to do more than one thing at once. Personally I find it very relaxing to take time to worry about only one thing. If you're taking an art class, your one job is to do whatever project you're working on. Your worries are all gone because all you have to do is focus on something that is just for you, and that only you can create.
