I’m very fortunate enough to say the I have traveled the world every since I was a little girl. I have been to more countries than I have states. I have learned so much from traveling and I think everyone needs to make it a priority on their “To-Do Lists.” One of the reasons as to why people need to travel is because it makes them a more well-rounded person. For example, when traveling around to different countries, people learn the different cultures and heritages embedded in different nations. By traveling to different countries, it makes people less ignorant about races, religions, ethnicities etc. because they are actually making an effort to understand the different history and traditions of a nation. It's also incredibly fascinating to learn about the history of a nation and how it has affected the rest of the world or how we live today. One of my favorite things about traveling is seeing the different architecture and monuments that make up a city. For example, it is so incredible to see the Colosseum in Rome, Italy that has been there for centuries. By traveling, people become more cultured and connected to the rest of the world.
Traveling is also very important because it has taught me how to be a great communicator. It is very difficult to visit different countries where there is a language barrier because it makes getting around a lot harder. However, I have noticed that traveling has made me become more fascinated with the different languages and has helped me become more passionate about learning languages. Traveling has also taught me how to get over a language barrier and to use the universal language of hand signals. For example, when I was in Italy a couple of years ago I was speaking with my little cousin who is an Italian native. There was a time where I couldn’t understand what he was saying so we both used universal hand signaling such as pointing, thumbs up as well as facial expressions to help us both understand what we were trying to say. As a result of traveling, I have become a better communicator and have been able to become more effective in my skills.
