If you have ever watched "One Tree Hill" you have probably always wanted to be the girl behind the red door. Brooke Davis is one of the best characters that has ever been on television. She isn't perfect, but she's a very relatable character especially to women who are in their twenties. If you aren't already admiring her, I'm going to tell you some reasons why you should.
1. She left her past behind her.
When you enter your 20's a lot of things start to change to make you really become the person you were meant to be. Even if that means leaving toxic friendships and who you were as a teenager behind. Brooke wasn't exactly a role model then but she left it behind her, overcame her struggles and became a better person.
2. She started her own clothing line at the age of 16.
3. She sticks up for real issues.
Brooke Davis (and Sophia Bush) are both great activists for women's rights, animals, and even self-love. In Season 7, she does a fashion show for her clothing line and her assistant Millie can't fit in the clothes. Instead of having another model wear the dress, she makes another one that says "zero is not a size." Throughout her career, she makes it her mission for every woman of every size to feel beautiful. I think we can all learn a little something from that and learn to love ourselves a little more.
4. She's always there for her friends.
Brooke goes through a lot of hardships in her life but she's never hesitated to be there for her friends when they need her. Whether it was Peyton, Rachel, Haley, or even Lucas, she was always there. A lot of us have at least one or two friends that we would do anything for and she's the perfect role model to look up to for that.
5. She uses her motherly instinct.
I think all women have a strong motherly instinct in us. Brooke basically took care of herself all her life, especially when her mom and dad moved to California without her when she was seventeen. In Season 5, she fosters a one year old baby named Angie who has a heart condition and needs heart surgery to survive. Then, in Season 6 she takes in Sam, one of Haley's students. I think all of us cried a little when she said "I need you mom". While we are in our 20's, whether it's our own child or someone else's that motherly instinct comes out and we know exactly what to do just like Brooke does.
6. She is insecure.
Brooke isn't perfect and throughout the series there are many times where she is insecure, and I'm sure all of us can relate to that.
7. She tells it like it is.
*snaps fingers in z formation*
8. She has the best comebacks.
9. She always puts everyone before herself.
In Season 9, Brooke nearly died when she put Jamie's life before hers in the car crash that landed them in the river. She even put Peyton's drama before her when she was severely beaten in her clothing store. I think we can all learn to put people before ourselves and learn a lot from Brooke Davis's character.
10. She's confident.
11. She's not afraid to dance like no one's watching.
Brooke's husband Julian, falls in love with her after he sees her dancing to "Don't You Forget About Me" in her clothing store. All of us should take at least five minutes out of everyday to put on music and just dance.
12. She know's her worth.
In high school, Brooke tends to let boys determine her self worth. She overcomes it when she graduates and realizes how much of a beautiful, strong, independent woman she is. Ladies, learn from this.
13. She has felt lost.
There are many times throughout the series when Brooke feels stuck. Especially when she goes bankrupt after her mother and assistant make a mistake with Clothes Over Bros. It's alright to feel like this because sometimes you need to hit rock bottom in order to grow. She overcame it and so will you.
14. She has been successful.
Straight out of college, Brooke had a successful clothing line, magazine, etc. She's such a role model for women everywhere trying to make it in the real world.
