Why Every Girl Should Aspire To Be Like Brooke Davis
One Tree Hill Wikia

When I first started watching One Tree Hill, I absolutely hated Brooke Davis. She was a conceited high school girl who had no respect for herself.

Since I am a former cheerleader, I hated the fact that she portrayed cheerleaders as snobby girls who think they're better than everyone else, which is not true at all. Her parents were very wealthy, so she was very spoiled. Throughout high school, Brooke was in love with Lucas Scott, while Lucas was in love with Brooke's best friend Peyton Sawyer. Although Brooke and Peyton were best friends, they didn't exactly act like it when it came to Lucas.

This version of Brooke Davis is not the version high school girls should aspire to be like. Sadly, most high school girls are very similar to Brooke Davis. They choose boys over friends, just like Brooke chose Lucas over Peyton several times. High school can be a time where girls figure out who they are, and learn to love themselves. Before they figure this out, many girls are very self-conscious, and don't have a lot of respect for themselves. They think that being wanted by boys is more important than anything, so they will do anything to get this attention. Just like Brooke believed that getting with several boys would make them love her, many high school girls believe this as well.

It took many mistakes for Brooke to realize that no matter what she did, it would never be good enough if she didn't learn to love herself first. Unfortunately, Brooke had to learn this the hard way, but as soon as she did, she became unstoppable. By the end of high school, Brooke had learned her self-worth and figured out what she was good at, fashion. In high school, she started a smaller version of her clothing line, Clothes Over Bros. After high school, Brooke moved to NYC to make her company even bigger.

Although her company meant so much to Brooke, she moved back to Tree Hill and even opened a shop there. While back in Tree Hill, Brooke met Julian Baker, whom she learned to fall in love with. For a while, Brooke was scared to tell Julian how she really felt since she had been hurt so many times in the past. Many girls do what Brooke did, and try to protect themselves from getting hurt by trying to shield their feelings. Once she got rid of this shield, she realized that this relationship wasn't toxic like many of her former relationships. Brooke and Julian eventually got married and had twins.

After a rough start, it is amazing to see Brooke Davis's transformation. As Brooke Davis starts to love herself, the audience begins to fall more and more in love with her character. Many girls can relate to Brooke, and it gives them hope that she turned out to be such a respectable, independent, and loving mother and wife. Since I was watching One Tree Hill during a hard time in my life, it made me feel much better knowing Brooke went from being someone who didn't respect herself or love herself, to the amazing woman she became. At first, she represented all the girls I strongly disliked throughout high school, but by the end of the show, Brooke Davis represented the woman I aspire to be.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
