A Different Choice For Our Bodies

Why Essential Oils Are "Essential"
Memoir of Almond Dropper

When watching television, there are usually about 3-5 medical commercials at a time. It is always alarming and startling to see the amount of symptoms that may occur, which ultimately causes more health issues in the long run. Wouldn't you rather have something natural that can help your body's wellness without risking other factors? Of course you would, and that is exactly what essential oils do for our bodies. Here are several reasons why it's time to invest into Young Living's Essential Oils:

**DISCLAIMER**: I am not a doctor, I cannot treat, prescribe, or diagnose any illness or disease. The oils are not FDA approved. This simply means I cannot tell you to take a certain oil in order to cure something, it is up to you to determine what you use your oils for. I can only recommend; and trust me, I highly recommend.

1. They are organic.

The picture above is a Young Living's Lavender field. All of the oils are naturally made with no harmful chemicals added. They are a healthier and easier alternative to various household objects (cleaning supplies, food, certain medicines, beauty products, etc.). The oils all come from plants around the Earth; they act as the same immune support for us as they do for the plants.

2. They work on pets.

Speaking of immune systems for plants and humans, oils also work well on your pets! For instance, my cat has high levels of anxiety which causes her to meow constantly throughout the night. To help balance her nerves, we pet her down with Young Living's Peace and Calming oil and it gives everyone a peaceful night's rest. They aren't harmful and it can save you a lot of money from going to the vet.

3. It can replace an income.

Within Young Living's company, people have the opportunity to create an income. There are different ranks based off of what the people you sign up are doing with the oils as well. Every time you sign someone up, you receive $50. When you have hundreds of people working with you and signing others up as well, it is possible to earn the Royal Crown Diamond paycheck a month. What would you do with over $100,000 a month?

4. The Seed-to-seal process.

The image above explains it well, but this process is why Young Living is a more secure choice compared to other essential oil companies or the cheap/fake oils you find in the grocery store. This process basically promises that Young Living only uses and produces the best oils all of the way from the beginning when they plant the seed, all the way to the end when they seal the bottle.

5. Anyone can be involved on the farms.

Gary Young and his wife Mary are the founders of the Young Living company. Their mission is to have oils in every household on the planet. They started out as farmers who followed their calling from God. There are several farms across the globe where anyone, especially skeptics, can go and see for themselves just how real all of these oils are. People are able to help on the farms and work the machines and be a part of something bigger than themselves.

6. You can use the oils topically, internally, and aromatically.

A great perk to essential oils is that they can be used aromatically or topically. Young Living also has a vitality line where you can even directly ingest the oils. An example of this is with my favorite oil: DiGize. As you can probably tell from the name, DiGize is used to help support the digestive system. Therefore, when needed, I can internally take DiGize Vitality by putting a drop under my tongue, and I can also rub a few drops of it on my stomach. It works both ways; it is nice for a person to have options.

7. You get the choice to be a wholesale member or a retail customer.

There are two different ways to experience the oils. For some, they choose the retail customer path. This is a great way to purchase a single oil and simply try it out for yourself. However, with the retail choice, a person must pay full price and they don't receive all of the wonderful benefits from being a member.

The other pathway is becoming a wholesale member. By becoming a member, you get the PSK (Premium Starter Kit), which is shown above. This includes: ten oils (Lavender, Peppermint, DiGize, Copiaba, R.C., Lemon, PanAway, Thieves, Purification, and Frankincense), plus a free oil (StressAway), a home diffuser for aromatherapy, packets of ningxia red samples (like a healthy energy drink), tiny oils samples, travel sized bottles, and instructions on how to apply oils. This is well worth around $300, but you only pay $160. Plus, you can make that $160 back immediately by sharing with three friends and receiving three $50 dollar checks from Young Living. Also, another perk of the membership is getting 20% off every product. When you truly see all you're getting for the amount of $160, you couldn't get your hands on these oils fast enough. It is completely worth it.

Essential Oils completely changed my life for the better. I feel as if it would be selfish of me to not share the wonders of these tiny bottles. They can be overwhelming at first, but they are a great alternative if someone is looking for organic choices for a healthy lifestyle or a new income. Regardless of your reason, I highly encourage everyone to do more research into the oils and see if they can change your life as well. Also, please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
