Why ESAs Are Crucial To Mental Health

If you don't already know, an ESA is an emotional support animal that is designed to help individuals cope with stress and mental health issues. An ESA can be a puppy, kitty, bunny, or any other animal that provides comfort in a time of need. After quite a year, I came to the realization that having an animal to love and care for would help me to cheer up on the bad days and give me an extra reason to smile on the good days. I had been deliberating about the issue for a while now because I managed to survive the last three years of college without one but I'm so happy I made the decision to adopt my orange tabby, Tiger. Tiger came from a rough background and had been through many struggles in a hoarding situation so it baffles me that anyone could treat such sweet kitty that wayy life . He was found in a home with at least twenty cats and was separated from his sister as a young kitten. I walked into the shelter while seeing family with an open heart and an open mind but it is as if Tiger chose me. I walked up to each kitty enclosure anxiously awaiting the sweet purs. Tiger immediately caught my eye as he came up to the edge of the cage and started purring. My heart melted even further when I heard his story and I couldn't believe a cat in his older years would be so playful and sweet.

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
