The fall semester is ending, and with it goes all its joyous and disastrous moments. The connotation surrounding school tends to be negative, despite all the great things that come from receiving an education. School is what prepares students for the rest of their lives. Without school, many would lack some of their most meaningful friendships, best memories and most insightful ideas.
If not for school it would be much harder for society to adapt at its current rate. If not for school, the human race would not evolve or grow, maybe teaching students the Pythagorean Theorem will not drastically change the human race but the skills necessary for using various theorems can.
School provides students with the skills they need for a successful life. School provides students with a new insight on subjects otherwise thought of as boring. Students develop passions in various classes, and learn to follow those passions through hard work and dedication. Even the worst of classes teach students how to deal with something they dislike with respect. School is a house of learning with teachers paving the way for students’ futures. If not for school, these incredibly influential and intellectual adults would not be able to affect the lives of millions.
School allows students to bond with other students over the good and bad times, developing social skills they can use in “the real world.” There is no doubt that sometimes school can get incredibly tough. But luckily, those dealing with school are not alone. When homework seems unbearable, students can talk or complain to one another about the large piles of work they must complete. After the seemingly impossible work is completed students tend to keep these bonds of friendship they created. School is not just for achieving success later on, it gives students a social network that otherwise wouldn’t exist.
Though waking up early and working hard may not be what most kid’s desire, school is truly a gift to society.
