Every morning, when I drop my brother off at school and start heading to campus, I always try to listen to 103.7 “Second Date.” I know that seems kind of ridiculous that I always listen out for this brief segment on a radio show every day at 8 something in the morning. For those who do not know, 103.7 “Second Date” is a segment where someone who had been on a first day with someone has not gotten a call back from the other person. The person who calls in does not understand why, but they trust the hosts of the 103.7 station to figure out why. So either one of the hosts calls the other person who has not been responding to see why, and also to see if they would agree to go on a second date with the other person. If they do agree, then the radio show will actually pay for the two of them to go on a second date with one another.
I think that my favorite part about listening to this segment every morning is to see exactly why the person had not responded to the other person after they concluded their first date. Sometimes it’s a minor communication error and on some other days, I am sitting in my car thinking to myself “Did that person really do what the other person is claiming?”
More specifically to the minor communication error part, I think that 103.7 really does an excellent job as acting as a median between the two different people. Sometimes someone will not return the call back to the other person, because there was a misunderstanding of some nature. While this may seem easy to discuss with the other person, it seems like it can almost be harder to do because they have only been on one date and do not know each other that well. With the help of the radio show hosts, they can sometimes persuade both of the people to go on a second date once they have talked everything out with another.
Regardless if the two people decide to go on a date with one another, I always get a good laugh out of the radio segment every morning. Thanks 103.7.
